Impactful Research
Majicom creates, develops, and manages important research collaborations between universities, NGO’s, institutions in both the UK and Tanzania. These collaborations are often focused on the development of new technologies, systems, or models for creating positive lasting change. These collaborations support Majicom’s mission whilst also creating new research projects, funding opportunities, and exchange programmes for researchers in Tanzania and the UK.
This collaborative work is conducted under the Waterwork platform - a research network created by Majicom.
Community Driven
We work with community members across Tanzania. Through conversations, workshops, and focus groups we are able to understand the nuances of the water problem. We work with future users to co-create and validate potential solutions to ensure they solve real problems in a culturally appropriate way.
We also partner with local NGO’s and businesses to allow our kiosks to be manufactured, maintained, and managed locally. We intend to scale our impact through a model that works alongside users and stakeholders, and empowers them with solution ownership.
Rapid Prototyping
We test and improve our solutions through rapid prototyping and workshops. We constantly explore and optimise the user experience and technical performance of our technology through the use of interactive prototype demonstrations.
Before launch, every element of our solution will have been trialed in a prototype form with experts, future users, and stakeholders. This allows us to develop product that is attractive, appropriate, and user-friendly.
