Providing Access to Affordable Drinking Water

The Urban Water Problem

In the rapidly growing urban and peri-urban regions across Sub-Saharan Africa, population growth is outpacing the development of supporting water infrastructure.

73% of people in Tanzania lack access to clean improved water infrastructure

As a result, 38% of people rely on single-use bottled water as a source of drinking water. This is extremely expensive for users.

As well as being expensive, almost 74% of single-use plastic bottles are never recycled, causing a heavy environmental burden.

“Majicom has developed an entirely unique technology stack that dramatically enhances access to affordable clean water for its users”

The Maji Jua Kiosk

A flexible sun-powered water purification and dispensing platform.

The Majijua uses cutting edge purification technologies combined with digital water management to create a new family of water kiosks. The system purifies and stores water before dispensing to paying customers, automatically with no mains power, chemical additives or significant cost.

Our Maji Jua system is a positive impact machine. It contributes to five of the sustainable development goals.

A Platform for Collaboration

Majicom works alongside universities, NGO’s, businesses, communities, and innovation hubs across the world. We firmly believe that the best way to create an impact is through co-creation and collaboration.

We create and facilitate collaborations that help to elucidate real world challenges, co-create solutions, and validate concepts - both technically and with future users.
